nighties

one of my first projects of 2014 were these flannel nightgowns for my little ladies- they are my first attempts at following patterns to create garments.  the nighties are far from perfect, but i learned a lot whilst making them.  the best part is that the girls love wearing them (and look totes adorbs!).

new year, new calendar

my sister and i have a tradition (that i love!) of giving each other calendars for christmas.  i believe that choosing a calendar should not be taken lightly- if i am going to hang something on my wall for a year, i want it to be pleasing to look at!  lucky for me, my sweet sister always picks a winner. 

i am sad to be putting away my beautiful snow & graham calendar that she gave me last year, but looking forward to a year of colorful, graphic images in the 2014 paper source version.

seattle quickie

last weekend my main squeeze and i snuck away for a quick trip to one of our fave cities.  we stayed in a great little hotel in the U district, visited with dear friends, ate amazing food (this spot is now forever on my "happy place" list) , and strolled though the SAM sculpture park in the sunshine.  it was heaven.

it's december first- time to crack open the first door on the advent calendar.

maybe one of these years i will spring for this super luxe version that is extravagantly packaged and filled with artisan chocolates...

i have visited baja many times, and i fall more in love with each trip.  last week i spent five gloriously warm days in san jose del cabo, celebrating an important birthday with one of my favorite friends.
