street art on my street!

srteet art makes me happy, and i know i'm not alone here.  i was beyond delighted to discover this colorful geo-design in an intersection just a few blocks down my street!  guess i should try taking new routes home more often!

this morning, two years ago

 gigi, 12 hours old

this morning, two years ago, was my youngest child's first sunrise.  greg and i were in awe of the baby that we had only just met the night before, the daughter who surprised us in so many delightful ways.  i was sore from the previous evening's labor, but more than anything, i was in love.  it felt so intimate to just have the three of us waking up together.  we couldn't stop looking at her.  she was perfect and amazing.  happy birthday to our sweet baby g!

yarn bombing, island style

knitting and crocheting makes perfect sense in the PNW, but i was surprised and excited to hear about these fabulous ladies here on oahu!
a yarn-bombed monkey pod tree?!  yes please, and mahalo!

upcycled jars

these beauties were made by the talented mom of a friend of mine.  i have long adored the quilts that she made for my newborn twins, and now i have more of her hand-made treasures to love.
could an empty jam jar aspire to anything more?  i think not!

thanks, kathleen !

after a few hours of this...

now i look like this!
hooray for fall, and the change that's in the air!

baby rogan

i got to meet and hold baby rogan for the first time yesterday.  he made sweet baby noises and was alert and looking around while i was visiting.  totes adorbs!!
my friend robyn had him at home just twelve days ago, and he is the newest member of the big baby club- he was born weighing 10 pounds, 5 ounces!  he is now tied with georgia for the biggest baby i have ever known!
congratulations, robyn, eric and big brother henry!  we look forward to watching rogan grow!

vancity

the fam and i just got back from an epic week-long tour of the northwest.  after quick stops in seattle and bellingham, we spent a couple days in gorgeous vancouver, british colombia.  the weather was autumnal perfection, and we toured stanley park on bike, ate noodles and dumplings at legendary noodle, and hung out with friends on commercial drive.
it wasn't nearly enough time!  i can't wait to go back to this amazing city!
